Currently offering lessons in classical, jazz, and pop piano.

Methods and Philosophy:

In my own teaching style I like to incorporate many different musical concepts such as rhythm, harmony, ear training, and sight reading in order to ensure that each student is well rounded. It is my personal philosophy that a strong understanding of these basic musical skills gives students the ability to truly succeed as musicians. Over time I have achieved the best results by encouraging students to follow their own musical interests while at the same time improving on all the fundamental skills needed to succeed as a musician.

Q:  What materials will I need for my first lessons?

A:  Specific books will be recommended after the first lesson and a good working piano or keyboard is an absolute must!

Q:  How often will I need to practice?

A:  30 minutes to an hour each day is recommended for beginners. Very young students might only have the attention span for 15-30 minutes. As a general rule it is much more effective to practice 5 days a week for a short time than 1 day a week for a long period of time.

Age Groups-

I have experience teaching all ages of students and  I always try to be patient and encouraging. Younger students generally require shorter lessons but it really depends on each individual.
